New arrival!!

We pride ourselves on being a family club and the 3rd XI skipper has taken it literally by increasing his own family.

Congratulations to Neil and Laurette on the birth of their 2nd son Jake Alexander Pinkerton.  Both baby and Mummy are doing well.  Well done Neil!

Well done Phil!!!

Looks like Cregagh will have some sort of involvement at the next inter pro match when the Northern Knights entertain Leinster Lightning as Cregagh's very own Philip Thompson has been selected by Cricket Ireland to be the 3rd Umpire for the match at Comber.

Well done Phil and good luck.

3rds Back to winning ways

Man of the match
Adam Skelton
On Sunday the 3rds travelled the few miles across town to face an Instonian's Vs side allegedly depleted by holidays and withdrawals. Erring on the side of caution the Skipper and VC lobbied to field first but after losing the toss were invited to have a bat.

The conditions were truly terrible and fine rain (that soaks you through) blew across the pitch making both bowling and batting difficult. VC Stuart Catterson anchored the innings until he had to retire hurt for 19. Adam McCormick and Ross McKnight also contributed to a reasonable score of 90 in 20 overs.

The sun came out for the Instonians innings but this proved just the remedy the visiting side needed as wickets fell at regular intervals. Adam McCormick bowled fast and straight but Man of the Match Adam Skelton posted superb figures of 4 overs, 1 for 11. In truth he should have 2 or 3 wickets but he pinned down the batsmen just enough to raise the run rate to more than the home side could manage.

Adam McCormick
Ollie Fleetham and Ross McKnight also took wickets and when Skipper Neil Pinkerton took the wicket of the Instonians danger man on the first ball of the last over, thanks to Ollie's catch, 13 runs from 5 balls was never going to happen.

So the 3rds move to 2 and 1, and with T20 games against Victoria and Lisburn in the next week, Cregagh could be challenging the top of Section 8 before the 12th holidays.

Subs!!!

Lads, subs are now due £60 for an adult and £20 for junior so please pass these onto myself, or your team captain at the weekend.  With all three teams out this weekend should make it easier.  Thanks.
