End of Season Awards Dinner

Sorry for the delay I have only stumbled home from one of the best nights EVER at Cregagh CC.

To say that we had a good year would be an understatement, the 1st XI won the league and went through the season unbeaten, the 2nd XI survived a relegation battle, the 3rd XI won their league and of course the under 15s won the Graham Cup!!

From special spot prizes to a special guest appearance (the less said about that the better) it really was a special night that ended in our annual disco / shuffle into the wee small hours.  It should also be mentioned that the Chairman presented all the committee members with a nice gift as a small thank you for all the hard work that the committee undertakes, you see he really isn't that bad!!  Only joking mate and thank you for the gift mate.

In true Cregagh tradition we like to see everyone leave with a trophy and this year was no different, outlined below are this years individual winners;

1st XI Batsman of the year R.Moore

1st XI Bowler of the year G Hassard

 1st XI Captain G Hassard
 1st XI Captains pick G Watt

The 2nd XI prize winners were;

2nd XI Batsman of the year R Moore
 2nd XI Captains Pick C Copeland being collected by his Dad Bill
 2nd XI Bowler of the year Thompson Dawson

The 3rd XI Prize winners were;

3rd XI Captains pick M Fleetham

 3rd XI Bowler of the year P Thompson
3rd XI Batsman of the year D. Hand

We also have a few special awards on the night, Special Individual Performance of they year, this trophy is awarded to anyone within the club that has had a special performance and is voted on by the committee and the unanimous winner was Darryl Hand for his incredible 112 not out for the 2nd XI against Waringstown 3s.

The Pacemaker Press International sponsored Young Player of the Year award went to Adam McCormick for his excellent performances for the 1st XI this season.

The Harry Blair Memorial shield which is also voted by the committee was shared this year between R. Moore and G. Watt

Stuart Nelson had a great year, he captained Cregagh to Graham Cup success, he also captained the NCU team, he made his debut for Ireland at under 15 and managed to take 6 wickets against the PSNI for 2 runs.

Stuart picking up the matchball celebrating his figures of 6 wickets for 2 runs

In addition to this, the club presented a photo of Stuart in his Ireland cap and sweater to this parents as a keepsake.  The family then presented to the club Stuart's Ireland shirt as a thank you to the club which now sits pride of place in our clubroom.

But of course this is the special trophy that Stuart really wanted, we have a lovely way at Cregagh CC of keeping your feet on the ground!!!  QUACK QUACK our Ireland representative also won the Le Canard d'or for the most ducks in the season.

Max Porter also received a special award for his 100 for the 3rds along with a framed scorecard to mark his first 100 for Cregagh CC

Our Scottish branch was also recognised for his outstanding contribution to umpiring!!!!!!

What other way could you end the night a CREGAGH CC SELFIE!!!!!!!!  We rock!!!!
